The Toyota Prius hybrid vehicle is fitted with supplemental fog lights. The fog lights are set low, beneath the marker lights, to illuminate the road in the presence of fog. Using a lever on the left side of the steering wheel, drivers can turn on the fog lights when the low-beam headlights are on. Additionally, the lever controls the standard headlights. The fog lights do not function in high beam mode.
- Remove the engine under-cover from underneath the fog light you need to change. The cover is held by a bolt on the front and a plastic clip on the cover's outside rear. Reach inside the front wheel well and hold the clip to remove it. Depress it and push it away from its cover.
- Reach through the gap concealed by the cover and grab the fog light electrical connector. Press down on the plastic clip on the outside of the connector and pull it out of the fog light socket.
- To remove the fog light bulb socket from the fog light housing, turn it counterclockwise and pull the socket and bulb out of the housing.
- Pull the old bulb out of the housing and replace it with the new one.
- Put the bulb and socket into the fog light housing, then turn it in a clockwise direction to secure them.
- The electrical connections must be reconnected.
- Replace the bottom sheet. Replace the bolt and then push the clip through the hole to secure it.
